Jane Bright

Founder, L3 Pilates Mat Instructor & Reiki Practitioner

I'm excited to share the benefits of Pilates and Reiki with you for a transformative mind-body experience.  Whether it's in a group Pilates class or a private, personalised Pilates programme, both are designed to strengthen and elongate the body while addressing posture imbalances that can lead to aches and pains.  I modify and adapt exercises to suit your body's needs, so anyone of any fitness level can participate: it is a great form of exercise to recover from injury.  Classes are in Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK, or can be provided online via zoom.

I also offer Reiki treatments, an energy healing practice that promotes deep relaxation

and helps to release tension held in the body.  These are in Eastbourne, or distance healing can be provided on request.

 

I am passionate about working with people to achieve optimal health and wellness, as both Pilates and Reiki have helped me enormously after life stresses, bereavement, injury and childbirth.  I first discovered Pilates, after a recommendation from my chiropractor, 15 years ago following neck pain from a whiplash injury, and back pain after pregnancy and carrying my babies and have loved it ever since.  Reiki treatments regulated my nervous system after a stressful few years before and during lockdown, and got me out of survival flight-fight-freeze mode.  You too can thrive after bereavement, injury, trauma, or general life stress!

I love studying and developing my knowledge of anatomy and the mind-body connection.  I have completed CPD in Exploring Osteoporosis, Diastasis Rectus Abdominis & Hernias, Fascia, Advanced Pilates, Pilates with Small Equipment and Pelvic Health for Movement Teachers.  I am currently studying my specialist diploma (including Pilates for Common Orthopaedic Conditions and Pre and Post Natal Pilates).  

 

I sometimes have to pinch myself that I am a Pilates teacher - I hated PE at school and have never quite got into running (I've tried to do the couch to 5K every year for the past 5 years!), have never run a marathon, and I was always the one at the back giggling and going in the wrong direction during 'grapevine' in an aerobics class as have zero co-ordination! But I always loved moving since being a child, I used to get up early to do the Lizzie Webb workout and jump along with the Green Goddess! Yoga was my love as a teenager and in my twenties but Pilates only made sense to me after years of sitting in a desk job, and having bad back ache and other aches and pains.  That is one of the reasons I think it's amazing, literally anyone can do it whatever your strength, ability or whichever medical condition or injury you have or are recovering from.
